DEX trading volumes over the past year show the concentration of activity among top platforms⬇️ Key insights: • @PancakeSwap - $1.3T annual volume, leading the market • @Uniswap - $922B, consistent adoption across Ethereum and L2s • @Raydium - $287B, strong Solana-based liquidity • @AerodromeFi - $186.4B, emerging high-volume DEX • @orca_so - $156.1B, focused on Solana liquidity • @HyperliquidX Spot - $115.4B, maintaining top-perps presence • @MeteoraAG - $109.2B, niche market growth • @CurveFinance - $82.4B, stablecoin and low-slippage trades • @Pumpfun - $35.7B, smaller volume but growing activity Trading volumes remain highly concentrated among a few leading DEXs, while a long tail of smaller venues competes for market share.

While overall market conditions have been relatively weak in the past year, one interesting divergence is how average DEX spot volumes have continued to grow. A large part of this was driven by @PancakeSwap, largely fueled by the Binance Alpha token launch model. By mid-2025, this trend hit its peak where many projects opted for Alpha listings which effectively launching synthetic versions on @BNBCHAIN to tap into distribution and liquidity. And naturally, the biggest beneficiary of this flow was the primary on-chain venue. The “Binance Alpha Effect” was actually quite significant when you look at the data. PancakeSwap maintained >50% DEX volume dominance throughout Q2–Q3 2025, even peaking at 63.1%, outperforming Uniswap by a wide margin. But as with most reflexive cycles in crypto, once the Alpha-driven momentum faded, so did the volume dominance. So what's the takeaway here?
