    🚀 OPTIMISM DRIVES RWA: 🌏 DB Securities joins to develop STO infrastructure in South Korea. DB Securities and the @Optimism Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New York to develop Security Token Offering (STO) and Real-World Assets (RWA) infrastructure focused on the Jeju region, South Korea. The alliance seeks to tokenize real assets linked to Jeju's economy, including smart agriculture, livestock, and Korean intellectual property (K‑IP). DB Securities will be responsible for the development and operation of the platform, while Optimism will provide the blockchain infrastructure via OP Stack. Choosing OP Stack reflects the growing institutional interest in customized blockchain solutions. Instead of relying on third‑party shared networks, regulated institutions can run their own infrastructure, settling on Ethereum and maintaining greater control over risk management and system evolution. The project will be deployed in phases over two years, following the regulatory frameworks set by South Korean financial authorities. DB Securities expects to lower initial costs and accelerate implementation by building on an already operational technology. The collaboration represents another step forward in expanding tokenized assets beyond the native crypto ecosystem. More and more financial institutions are exploring blockchain as an infrastructure layer to bring traditional assets into the digital realm without losing regulatory oversight. The combination of DB Securities' financial expertise and Optimism's technology positions Jeju as a potential testbed for new institutional models of STO and RWA in Asia.

Worth flagging the $5.5T is Citi's base case, not a floor, and auditable privacy still has to clear regulators in practice. Toss is already testing this stack for a KRW stablecoin.
