This is feedback we’ve received more than once, and it’s fair. We can't deny that.

It’s also an area where we know we can do better.

Anyone familiar with the work around Toshi knows a lot of the value has historically been built behind the scenes, through private conversations, partnerships, and execution away from public timelines. That is where a lot of the progress happens, but it also means the community has not always been kept as consistently updated as it should be.
This stems from my personal advisory work that generally always happens under NDA and behind closed doors, thus there is no reporting to anyone about it. Toshi shouldn't suffer from my personal mindset there.

That’s not an excuse. Toshi as a project can and should improve here.

We’ll sit down with the team and work on a quick turnaround fix, including handing more of these updates to the people best equipped to communicate regularly and clearly with the community.

Separately, as you know, we’re currently working with @tinyhumansai. Through some somewhat cryptic tweets, we’ve made it clear that something significant is being built.

What we’re working on is new, and it may solve a lot of the legal issues projects have been dealing with for a long time. Because of that, we’re being very careful about keeping the circle small before rolling it out publicly.

This also extends beyond a single partnership. The goal is to help establish a new gold standard.

Toshi is not the main entity behind it, but it is a crucial partner within it. That also means not every update is ours alone to share.

There are definitely other things to update you on too, but the “magic sauce” needs to be legally triple checked before anything is rolled out. Protecting the people and projects involved comes first.

So yes, we will get you an update this week. Beyond that, we need to find a better cadence, whether that’s community updates, regular reminders of what has already been done, or clearer communication around what is currently being worked on.

And honestly, @FlynnJohnsonn could talk to you all day about the GIFs and how many views they’ve done.
