🧵Franklin Templeton’s BENJI just received an AAAm rating from S&P Global Ratings.
The Benji Technology Platform powering one of the world’s largest tokenized money market funds was built on @StellarOrg.
At first glance, this looks like a major achievement for Franklin Templeton.
But there is another story hiding underneath.
It is called @StellarOrg
👇
$FOBXX (BENJI), Franklin Templeton’s OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund, has been assigned an ‘AAAm’ Principal Stability Fund Rating by S&P Global Ratings.
This is the highest principal stability rating available for money market funds.
Franklin Templeton made history in 2021 by launching BENJI natively on @StellarOrg
Stellar was not chosen as an experiment.
It became the blockchain infrastructure where issuance, transfers and redemptions were recorded from day one.
Today, BENJI exists on multiple networks.
Yet Stellar remains its dominant home.
More than 60% of BENJI’s total on-chain assets, representing hundreds of millions of dollars, are still settled and recorded on Stellar.
For many BENJI investors, Stellar simply operates quietly in the background.
Why Stellar?
• Fast finality
• Transaction fees measured in fractions of a cent
• Infrastructure designed for payments and tokenized assets
• Compliance capabilities required by regulated issuers
Not every blockchain was designed with regulated financial products in mind.
Stellar was.
The AAAm rating belongs to the fund itself.
However, maintaining a tokenized money market fund over multiple years also requires reliable infrastructure.
Since 2021, Stellar has quietly provided exactly that.
No outages.
No drama.
Just settlement.
And BENJI is not alone.
Today, Stellar hosts more than $3 billion in tokenized real-world assets.
Among them are:
• Franklin Templeton
• Ondo Finance
• Spiko
• WisdomTree
• Centrifuge
• Societe Generale – FORGE
MoneyGram connects people.
BENJI connects institutions.
MPP connects machines.
LCP connects autonomous agents to legal certainty.
Stellar may quietly be assembling the rails for all four.
@FTDA_US / Franklin Templeton earned the AAAm rating.
But Stellar has been keeping the heartbeat of BENJI alive since day one.
Five years.
Billions in assets.
Millions of ledger entries.
Few headlines.
Just infrastructure.
