Instead, ASTER is down 75% from its high.
It even beat Hyperliquid in trading volume.
But Hyperliquid had 5x more open interest.
The real problem wasn't volume. It was token supply. 8B max supply. Only 32% unlocked.
Now Aster has cut emissions by 97% and started buybacks.
The right move. Just too late.

- Round 1: Bought 1m $ASTER for $689.01k, immediately deposited the entire amount into the Aster protocol to farm rewards, then withdrew the 1m ASTER a month later and transferred it to Binance.
- Round 2: Repeated the exact same process.
- Round 3: Has just completed the deposit step, sending another 1m ASTER into the Aster protocol about 3 hours ago.
After 2mo, his investment in ASTER is down by more than $70k.
Judging by this trading pattern, he appears to be a long-term investor who is simply putting his idle ASTER to work by farming rewards. The question is: will those rewards be enough to offset the losses from holding ASTER?
