In 2021, BSC had a block production time of 3 seconds and Finality of 45 seconds (15-block confirmation).
Now the block production time is 0.45 seconds and Finality 0.65 seconds, an improvement of about 70x.
Actually, in 2021, 3 seconds/45 seconds seemed very fast, but compared to newer chains like Solana that have 1‑second or sub‑second block times and faster Finality, it felt like a relic of the past.
Now it feels quite impressive.
I don't know much about the security side,
but I guess it's handled well?!
