🔗 Lido DAO centers its support for wstETH on key networks
@LidoFinance has announced a strategic adjustment to the canonical state of its wstETH bridges across several networks, including zkSync Era, Polygon PoS and other relevant chains. The decision aims to concentrate resources and operational support on those networks where wstETH adoption and usage are more significant, ensuring more efficient management of the token ecosystem.
Although the canonical state is altered, wstETH tokens remain fully valid and operational. Users will be able to continue transferring, staking, or interacting with their tokens on the affected networks without interruptions. The change primarily affects how Lido monitors integrations, responds to incidents, and communicates official support for each bridge.
The DAO also implemented a new governance mechanism to manage future adjustments more agilely. A Network Expansion Committee will now oversee potential changes to bridge states, reducing the need for full DAO votes for routine decisions. Any future modification will still require unanimous committee approval and public announcements to ensure transparency.
This move is part of Lido’s strategy to optimize resources, simplify support, and prioritize networks with higher real activity. By focusing on heavily used chains, Lido seeks to improve reliability and align operational efforts with effective token adoption.
These changes highlight the importance of active stakeholder participation and oversight, emphasizing how governance and strategic resource allocation are key to the long‑term sustainability of decentralized protocols like Lido.
