🔥 BNB IN DEFLATION: 🪙 Burns $932M and reduces its supply @BNBChain completed its 36th quarterly token burn of $BNB, removing 1,615,827.795 BNB from the total supply, with an approximate value of $932 million at execution. Following this operation, BNB's supply was reduced to 133,166,127.91 tokens, progressively approaching the network's goal of limiting the maximum supply to 100 million BNB. This burn marks a significant shift within the asset's economic model, as it was executed directly on BNB Smart Chain via the updated Auto-Burn mechanism. Unlike previous processes that relied more on Binance as a centralized entity, the new burns are performed natively on-chain using an automatic system based on ecosystem metrics. The Auto-Burn mechanism calculates the amount of BNB removed primarily using the token's average price during the quarter and the number of blocks produced on BSC. The design aims to balance supply reduction with network sustainability. The quarterly burn maintains BNB's deflationary strategy, a factor that has historically been part of its economic proposition. However, supply reduction alone does not guarantee a positive price impact, as demand, network activity, and validator reward emissions remain key variables. The supply evolution will continue to depend on whether network activity maintains a sufficient usage level to sustain a relevant burn rate in upcoming quarters.

After the burn, the total supply of BNB remaining is 133,166,127.91 BNB. This burn was carried out via the BNB Auto-Burn mechanism, with the amount adjusted based on BNB price and the quarterly block production on BNB Smart Chain (BSC).
