The goal now is to have customers actually pay services like: document digitization asset tokenization trade finance (?) Dom said the commercial TWIN product is 2–3 months away from onboarding its first clients Client feedback already being collected. TWIN's commercial entity will likely sit under the Swiss entity (TEA) or (UAE entity) Dom also mentioned the possibility of raising external capital directly into TWIN as a for-profit company. The long‑term plan: TWIN revenue should fund most or all of the wider team's operations Why is this good? So if TWIN creates revenue it would reduce dependence on selling treasury tokens My opinion "I personally hoped for faster scaling of TWIN. But with the commercial side not active it wouldn't make sense to scale anyway." 2. Kenya is not live in full production yet - but it sounds technically finished Dom said: "The system itself has been built and handed over, but deployment is being held up by commercial and governmental requirements: data-provider registration, certification and agreements concerning pricing per trade corridor/document digitization. " Their previous hopes were end of Q1, then end of Q2; now Dom says "the next couple of months." bottleneck doesn't seem primarily technical anymore This sentence is particularly important: Kenya is described as the project that must prove TWIN can operate commercially in production on an actual trade corridor. My opinion "I would treat Kenya production go-live as the single biggest near‑term validation milestone for TWIN. 3. Salus is more significant than I previously thought Dom provided some concrete numbers. Salus has apparently financed/tokenized around 30–40 cargoes over recent months (I mentioned some tx onchain in the past) Involving a few million dollars of funding, and has purchased IOTA to pay the relevant blockchain fees. That's useful because it answers one longstanding question: Is there at least one real external commercial entity buying IOTA because it needs the network? Apparently yes: Salus. But in terms of token demand, 30–40 cargoes obviously doesn't move the needle. The interesting part is that Salus is apparently close to securing a larger capital commitment from private credit funds. Which would allow it to scale its financing activity. Why is this good? This would allow it to scale its financing activity. My opinion "A genuinely large institutional private‑credit allocation into Salus would probably be more meaningful than another pilot announcement. Let's not forget that salus is only one project. More pilots for other commodities like coffee are forming. Those companies will scale and grow the IOTA/TWIN ecosystem" 4. Initial Trade Dollar vault runs on Ethereum This is significant. Trade Dollar's assets are connected to IOTA/TWIN However the initial investment vault will launch on Ethereum, because that's where stablecoin liquidity and trusted DeFi infrastructure already exist. Dom's argument is: go to the liquidity instead of forcing liquidity onto IOTA. My opinion "I never liked ETH first IOTA second approach but the strategically it makes sense. Capital, trust and liquidity is already on Ethereum. This keeps entry barrier easy and low for investors." -------- There is much more to cover and research but i don't want to make it too long. I will get more into detail of the business and commercial side. So stay tuned for further updates. 2026 looks like the year where we finally find out what people are actually willing to pay for, finance and use at scale. TWIN Cloud. Kenya. Salus. Trade Dollar. The infrastructure is increasingly there. Now comes the harder part: turning it into a business.

It is the IOTA Foundation that is abandoning a generalist approach and concentrating its resources on one specific vertical: TWIN. 🔎 OSINT-HUMINT — Information external to the AMA: other players will eventually occupy the general-purpose space the Foundation is leaving behind. The IF may not fully realize it yet, but its original mission has already succeeded: it has delivered a fully developed, decentralized IOTA network capable of standing on its own. Its final task is to help IOTA secure its first major customer: TWIN. 🔹 2. TWIN will become a commercial company: it will move beyond being primarily public infrastructure and become a SaaS product with paying customers, contracts, subscriptions and transaction-based fees. The opportunity is there and it will probably generate the greatest returns for IOTA. The problem is not the destination, but the timing: dealing with different governments, agreements and country‑specific demands is proving exasperatingly slow for Dominik and extremely difficult to navigate — and that is putting it very mildly. The battle for Africa has already been won; only the political timelines are preventing it from materializing. 🔹 6. Trade finance is now the main opportunity: coffee, avocados, critical minerals, stablecoins and the financing of commercial transactions. Stalus has reportedly completed around 30–40 shipments and deployed several million in funding. 🔹 7. TradeDollar will begin on Ethereum: not because it is abandoning IOTA, but because Ethereum already has the liquidity, USDT/USDC and the most battle‑tested contracts. Tokenization will remain on IOTA, although some of the capital will initially flow through other networks. 🔎 OSINT-HUMINT — Information external to the AMA: TradeDollar cannot wait for USDT0 to become available on IOTA. It will therefore launch on Ethereum, while the USDT0 integration is postponed until the treasury is strong enough to fund it. The integration could be reactivated after TWIN’s first funding round or if the IOTA token recovers above $0.30. 🔹 8. USDT0 still has no launch date: it remains the preferred option, but there is no concrete integration timeline. 🔎 OSINT-HUMINT — Information external to the AMA: the payment required to complete the integration would be too high — a seven‑figure amount — so the expenditure is being postponed while treasury preservation is prioritized. 🔹 9. There will be no new public roadmap: Dom believes that a formal roadmap would limit the team’s ability to change priorities and adapt to the market.
