$DATA / @datafdn
Its not pretty, but its found a bottom. Looking at 0.27-0.30 for a nice bounce! https://t.co/86Agy7YSWq

Most AI training data is scraped, unprovable, and legally messy.
@datafdn is building the onchain rails for rights-cleared human data.
138M+ permanent receipts.
340K+ contributors.
230TB of data audited.
This is our next "Projects We Are Watching in 2026" entry. 🧵👇 https://t.co/qwPknmbgrr
1/ DATA Foundation is a purpose-built Layer 1 for AI training data.
Every dataset gets verifiable provenance, programmable rights, and confidentiality controls.
Labs can verify data before training.
Contributors can prove they gave consent and get paid. https://t.co/B7vpOP3cco
2/ Three core layers power the network:
• Trace records provenance, licensing, and payments
• CDR protects data with threshold encryption
• IP & Licensing makes datasets programmable legal assets
Everything is built specifically for AI data.
3/ The flagship application is Kled.
People upload their own images, videos, audio, and other data, explicitly opt in, and earn rewards.
Every contribution generates a permanent onchain receipt that proves ownership, consent, and licensing history.
4/ Numbers worth noting:
• 139M receipts registered
• 340K+ contributors
• 230TB of data audited
• 133M+ Kled receipts
• 99.9% KYC-verified contributors
This is real data flowing onto the network every day. https://t.co/oyzJgSFhhb
5/ AI companies have a growing problem.
Public web scraping is becoming harder to defend legally, while high-quality human data remains difficult to source.
DATA provides the missing provenance, licensing, and audit layer that modern AI increasingly needs.
6/ Led by CEO Andrea Muttoni with Avi Patel serving as Chief Data Officer, DATA has evolved into a dedicated AI data infrastructure network.
Backed by a16z crypto, the team is focused on one question:
How do you build an AI data economy where every contribution is provable, licensed, and fairly compensated?
7/ The network is powered by the $DATA token.
It secures the chain, pays transaction fees, and powers licensing and data registration.
The network is already generating real activity tied directly to contributor participation and dataset creation.
8/ Most AI data projects only solve one piece of the puzzle.
Some source contributors.
Others track provenance.
DATA connects contributor apps, confidential infrastructure, verifiable licensing, and onchain payments into one stack for AI builders. https://t.co/2A4KqKMcxB
9/ Worth being honest about the risks:
• Commercial AI demand is still developing
• Competition across AI data infrastructure
• Regulatory uncertainty
• Execution risk as paid licensing scales
• Token volatility after the rebrand
11/ DATA Foundation passes the filters we care about:
✅ Live network with real usage
✅ Strong provenance and confidentiality design
✅ Top-tier ecosystem backing
✅ Clear economic incentives for contributors
The biggest thing to watch is commercial adoption by AI companies.
10/ The network is already live.
Trace is public, contributor apps are active, and new registrations continue arriving every day.
The shift toward dedicated AI data infrastructure is already translating into measurable onchain activity.
12/ We put together a full deep dive covering:
• Trace
• Kled
• Confidential Data Rails
• Token migration
• The emerging AI data economy
Worth reading if you're research the project👇

13/ This is another entry in our "Projects We Are Watching in 2026" series.
We focus on projects building real infrastructure with measurable adoption and sustainable economics.

Had you heard of DATA Foundation before this thread?
Didn’t expect Trace to cross 100M receipts so quickly after my last post.
Trace (the public data auditing tool for @datafdn) has now passed 111M receipts in under a month, with 177TB of AI training data audited across 173K contributors.
And all of it comes from apps auditing and registering real‑world AI training data.
This activity has already pushed DATA into the top 20 chains for daily fees on @DefiLlama.
Btw, the receipts are anonymized, so the activity can be verified without revealing who contributed the data.
I really like the balance between public proof and private contributors.
