i don't know who needs to hear this, but:
to those confused about why established largecap memes are suddenly up double-digit % whenever there's even a faint nano-glimmer of strength on btc:
when you have a multi-year chart that looks like this (see screenshot)
and the first, lower X is a (reasonably) liquid 3-5x
and the second X, which you can honestly not even worry about if you're conservative, represents something like a 7-10x+, and has a great chance of getting tagged (unless something breaks)
and even someone as inept as me can look at this chart and immediately eyeball some sort of regression line like this
and the alternatives in the space are BTC, ETH, SOL (which are worth allocating toward, but will all variously do a 2-3x if we're lucky),
and the only other thing is either dead defi governance tokens, or the new memecoin pair factory-lubricated rape+execution machine
it shouldn't really be shocking that people are taking a punt on stuff like pepe or shib
