XYO started in 2018 as a decentralized location oracle but expanded its scope in 2022 to cover broader heuristic and digital data and not just geospatial information:

- The network now runs on over 10 million nodes (Sentinels collect data, Bridges relay and validate it, Archivists store it, Diviners answer queries), XYO's own claim positions it as the largest and highest revenue DePIN network by node count though this is a self reported figure worth treating with appropriate skepticism until independently verified.
- A new dual token model splits the ecosystem, XYO (fixed supply, used for staking, governance and network security) is now the exclusive way to earn XL1, the separate token that pays gas and transaction fees on the new Layer One chain which is the idea that staking demand for XL1 locks up XYO supply though XL1's own market cap currently sits around $1.4M suggesting the mechanism is still very early.
- A March 2026 partnership with climate analytics platform Resiliocs applies XYO's Proof of Origin verification to climate risk models for insurers and financial institutions, a concrete named enterprise use case though it's recent enough that there's no track record yet showing how much real usage it's generating.

Is launching a dedicated Layer One blockchain and landing a real enterprise partnership in climate risk data enough to validate XYO's pivot from location oracle to a broader verifiable data platform or does a token still trading 96% below its 2021 high even after 7+ years, 10M+ claimed nodes and a reported $8M+ in revenue suggest the market remains unconvinced regardless of the technical roadmap?
