Uphold was not required to support the Evernode airdrop. But after choosing to support it, accepting almost 3.9 million EVR allocated for its customers, and crediting customer accounts, it assumed a responsibility to provide a reasonable path to possession or value.
More than two years of “storage only” leaves customers with balances they cannot withdraw, sell, transfer or use.
Even if Uphold’s original disclosure makes this contractually permissible, it is difficult to reconcile with the ordinary meaning of giving customers their airdropped tokens.
@UpholdInc should take the financial hit and setup customer withdrawal.
