I have written a few pieces about USD1 before, so I've been following its developments
Recently I discovered two things advancing simultaneously, and it's interesting to look at them together
First: Holding USD1 on Binance earns WLFI rewards weekly, and this has been ongoing for 7 months
The WLFI treasury transferred another 170 million WLFI (≈ $10.22 million) to Binance on July 7–8, which is the subsidy for the 7th month
In the past 7 months, roughly 1.37 billion WLFI have been invested, equivalent to about $127 million, all used to reward users holding USD1 on Binance
The rule is simple: if you hold USD1 in spot, fiat, margin, or futures accounts, the system automatically distributes WLFI to your account every Friday proportional to your balance. If you use USD1 as margin for leverage or contracts, you receive a 1.2× boost
This is not a one‑off event; the treasury continuously funds it
It hasn't stopped for 7 months, indicating the team wants people to hold USD1 long‑term

Second: USD1 transfers, trades, and cross‑chain on BNB Chain are totally gas‑free
This is called the 0 Fee Carnival, which has been extended several times and now runs until July 31
It covers withdrawals from exchanges to BNB Chain, transfers between on‑chain wallets, and cross‑chain via partners
To date, the event has saved users over $4.5 million in gas fees
Supported wallets include SafePal, Trust Wallet, TokenPocket, bridges Celer, Meson, and exchanges Binance, Bitg, MEXC are also participating

The logic of these two initiatives is complementary:
The reward program answers “why hold USD1” – you earn yield just by holding
The zero‑gas activity answers “is using USD1 expensive” – transfers and trades cost almost nothing
One makes you want to hold, the other makes it affordable to use
Combined, they actively promote USD1 adoption on BNB Chain
My view is that this treasury‑backed subsidy plus platform cost reduction can quickly boost user numbers and on‑chain activity in the short term
But whether it can sustain long‑term depends on user retention after subsidies end
Currently, as a stablecoin holder, you get extra yield and almost zero usage cost, which is a better experience than most stablecoins
